Everyone has their own priorities for a successful and amazing Christmas season. I thought about all the things that I think make the holiday season magical. So here’s my personal A to Z Christmas list.
A dvent calendar. I always love to make one myself and give it to my mum.
B udget. Sometimes it’s easy to go totally overboard. Try to stick to a budget, because doesn’t have to be expensive to be amazing.
C hristmas cookies. I love baking so having loads of different kinds of Christmas cookies is a must have for me. And it is even more fun to eat them 😉
D ecoration. I am such a fan of decorating the house/apartment. I mean is there anything more awesome than all these decorated houses with all these lights.
E xercise. With all the cookies and the yummy food I try to fit in a little exercise here and there. My body doesn’t tolerate all that laziness for to long and exercise also helps me to keep sane and refresh my mind.
F riends and family. Christmas is just more fun with your loved ones.
G iving. Christmas is a time of giving and honestly nothing makes me happier then to give back and make other people happy.
H istory. We should never forget what the origin of Christmas is. Christmas was not invented to boost the economy 😉
I mprovisation. Don’t worry if something doesn’t work according to plan. Don’t let this destroy your Christmas spirit. Trust me it’s gonna be fantastic without that self made dessert you wanted to bring to the party 😉
J oy. No matter how find your joy and something that makes you happy. If you feel rather lonely and depressed there is absolutely NO SHAME in seeking any help in any form!
K indness. This is an all year issue, but especially during the holiday season some people need more. So spread that kindness like it’s glitter!!
L ights. Whether it is candles or string lights. It just lightens up not only the room but also the mood.
M ovies. There mostly cheesy but Christmas movies are so much fun. Check out this awesome list.
N ew traditions. A new partner, home or other circumstances are always a great opportunity to create new traditions. Don’t be afraid to do something new.
O rnaments. For a little DIY project, you could make some ornaments for your tree.
P laylist. What would Christmas be without all these amazing songs we can sing and dance to.
Q uotes. I love love love quotes, so my Christmas cards will definitely all have a quote written on them.
R ealistic expectations. Christmas doesn’t have to perfect to be amazing and special. So quit these unrealistic Hollywood movie ideas and just enjoy the real experience.
S leep. With all that decorating, working, baking, shopping and partying try to get these 8 hours of sleep in. Several nights a week not overall!
T ree. I mean this is a no brainer. I don’t care how small it doesn’t have to be huge, but there needs to be a Christmas tree 😀
U gly Sweater. This one is not a must have it is just fun.
V isits. If in any way possible don’t spend this season and Christmas Day alone. Visit your friends and family or go somewhere else to meet new people. Just don’t be alone (unless that is actually what makes you happy).
W inter wonderland. Not everyone has the opportunity to enjoy snow on Christmas, but for me snow on Christmas makes it extra magical.
X mas anything. I’m really sorry for that one, but even the dictionary couldn’t help me here.
Y ourself. In the end you and your happiness is all that matters.
Z en. Christmas can become quite stressful and overwhelming. Try to find your Zen and a way to relax.
