Many amazing books are waiting for us in this new year of 2018. Since reading more is also one of my goals I will focus a little more on this topic. Every month I will look out for 5 (of sooo many more awesome) books, who are worth reading. So these are my 5 books to look out for in January.

1.Β Work It: Secrets for Success from the Boldest Women in Business (January 9th)

Work It: Secrets for Success from the Boldest Women in BusinessFrom dream to reality – This book was written by Carrie Kerpen,
who has her own podcast and is the CEO from Likeable Media”.
She and a group of 50 remarkable women like Aliza Licht,
from a wide range of industries, share their stories and secrets of success.
This is a book for empowerment and encouragement, which shows you,
you don’t always have to be a super tough girlboss,
to make your dreams reality and be a powerful leader.

Since it’s already out, you can get your copy now.

2.Β
Together We Rise: Behind the Scenes at the Protest Heard Around the World (January 16th)

Together We Rise: Behind the Scenes at the Protest Heard Around the WorldWe probably all remember this major historical event,
which happened all around the world.
Many of us were even a part of is. To celebrate its one year
anniversary the organizers created a collection of never before seen
photos,Β interviews by the organizers and essays by feminists.
I think this could be great for everyone, but probably extremely special
for people who experienced it first hand.

Only 6 days to wait or you can preorder it now πŸ™‚

3.Β
DIY Rules for a WTF World: How to Speak Up, Get Creative, and Change the World (January 16th)

DIY Rules for a WTF World: How to Speak Up, Get Creative, and Change the WorldThis is another women’s march inspired book. Krista Suh,
the creator of the Pussyhat Project, created this book to share
her experiences and tips. She wants to encourage and inspire
her readers to find their creativity, boldness and being able
to achieve change in the world. 2017 began as the year of uprising
and 2018 could be the year of change. We all need to find our
inner-courage, speak up and unite as group of powerful women.

Buy it together with “Together We Rise” on the 16th. (yaaayy)

4.Β All the Women in My Family Sing: Women Write the World: Essays on Equality, Justice, and Freedom (January 30th)

All the Women in My Family Sing: Women Write the World: Essays on Equality, Justice, and FreedomFor me this is such an important book to read,
because women of color are still even more unrepresented than women in general. According to Amazon “sixty-nine authors ― African American, Asian American, Chicana, Native American, Cameroonian, South African, Korean, LGBTQI
― lend their voices to broaden cross-cultural understanding and
to build bridges to each other’s histories and daily experiences of life”.
We definitely need to understand more of each and the different struggles everyone faces.
I think this is a must-read for everyone who wants to connect with and
empower other women.
Originally this book was expected for January 30th, though it seems
you can buy this bookΒ as of now.

5.Β BRAVE (January 30th)

BRAVEThis memoir by Rose McGowan probably needs no introduction.
Rose herself has made the following statement:
“My life, as you will read, has taken me from one cult to another.
BRAVEΒ is the story of how I fought my way out of these cults
and reclaimed my life. I want to help you do the same.”
This will probably not an easy one to read, but maybe some of us
will be encouraged to be brave.

You can already preorder now.

If reading more and connecting over books is one of your passion or goals too, then come and join my book club. If you want to you can also join my group on Goodreads. I would be sooo happy πŸ˜‰ Let’s make 2018 a year of reading.
